Troy Newman
Managing Partner & Founder
Troy is the founder of Highland Peak and has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. His area of expertise is utilizing strategic design to optimize client portfolios based around their growth and income needs. Troy’s high-net worth client base primarily consists of business owners, corporate executives and multi-generational families.
Prior to founding Highland Peak, Troy was a senior director for BNY Mellon Wealth Management for 10 years where he managed a team with $4.5B in AUM. Troy also directly managed client relationships with $750M in AUM. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Troy was a vice president at Strategic Financial Partners where he managed the investment department and controlled strategic asset allocation for over $750M in client assets. Before that, he held management positions with Kessler Financial Services, Blackstone Capital Management, and Thomson Financial.
Troy received his bachelor’s degree from the California State University Sacramento and his MBA from Babson College. Troy is an active Member of the Board for Summer Search, is involved with the Boston Estate Planning Council, and has been a guest speaker on Money Matters Radio and at Babson College.
Kyle McBurney, CFP®
Managing Partner
Kyle is a Managing Partner for Highland Peak Wealth. He specializes in working with individuals and families to implement and manage customized investment strategies in an uncertain world.
Kyle has direct responsibility for managing client relationships. He works closely with clients to understand their goals and objectives, manage their investments, and integrate their investment strategy within a complete wealth management plan.
Prior to Highland Peak Wealth, Kyle worked as a VP and Senior Portfolio Manager at BNY Mellon. Kyle worked directly with high-net worth clients, foundations, and ultra-net-worth family offices. At the time of his departure, he was managing over $700M in client assets. Before BNY Mellon, Kyle was a Financial Advisor at Barclays Private Wealth and Morgan Stanley. During his tenure at Morgan Stanley, Kyle was a top performer and earned the prestigious Pacesetter Award.
Kyle graduated with distinction from Kenyon College, earning his Bachelor's Degree in History and Political Science. During his time at Kenyon, he competed on both the varsity basketball and golf teams.
He currently serves as an active member of the Norfolk and Plymouth Business Planning Council and as President of the Board for the Neponset River Watershed Association. Kyle lives in Dover, Massachusetts, with his wife Heather and their three children: Cooper, Teddy, and their newest addition, baby Ellie.
Justin Esposito
Managing Director
Justin is a Managing Director at Highland Peak Wealth, specializing in developing and managing customized investment strategies for individuals and families in an ever-evolving financial landscape. With over 18 years of experience, Justin prides himself on building strong and lasting relationships with his clients. He meticulously integrates investment plans within comprehensive wealth management strategies to align with each client's unique goals.
Justin's extensive background includes serving as a Principal and Senior Wealth Manager at BNY Mellon, where he managed large, multi-generational family relationships. Before that, he was a Portfolio Manager at U.S. Trust/Bank of America. Justin began his distinguished career in New York City, gaining valuable experience at Moody's Investor Services and other prominent asset management firms pre- and post-financial crisis.
Justin holds a bachelor’s degree from Lafayette College, where he was a member of the Men's soccer team. Justin is actively involved with the Providence-based charity Amos House. He and his wife, Heather, reside in Barrington, RI, with their two boys, Will and Pete. Outside of work, Justin enjoys anything to do with the ocean and sports.
Christopher Martinson, CFA
Managing Director
Chris is a Managing Director at Highland Peak Wealth, specializing in tailored investment solutions for families and individuals across generations. He partners closely with clients to understand their goals, manage portfolios, and create comprehensive wealth management plans.
Before joining Highland Peak Wealth, Chris served as a Director and Senior Portfolio Manager at BNY Wealth, managing $900 million in client assets while chairing the Boston Investment Implementation Committee. Previously, he was an Investment Counselor at Citi Private Bank, managing $2.7 billion in assets and earning recognition as a top performer through selection to the Chairman's Council. Chris holds a CFA designation.
Chris began his career in the U.S. Navy at 17, serving as a nuclear technician on submarines for six years. He graduated from Wesleyan University in 2014 with a double major in Economics and the College of Social Studies, where he also won a gold medal in rowing at the NESCAC Championship.
Chris and his wife, Nellie, live in Brookline with their daughter, Isobel, and son, Leo. He volunteers as a Year Up mentor and with Read to a Child.
Christopher R. Smith, CLU
Managing Director
Chris is a veteran wealth management professional and Managing Director at Highland Peak Wealth, where he serves as a trusted financial advisor and planner. With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Chris brings a client-first philosophy and a proven ability to deliver tailored financial solutions. In his current role, he advises high-net-worth individuals and families while partnering with advisors nationwide to expand the firm’s reach and impact.
Before joining Highland Peak Wealth, Chris held senior leadership positions at Massachusetts Mutual Financial Group, where he was most recently a Senior Director of Wealth Management. Over his two-decade tenure, he excelled in business development, advisor coaching, and strategic growth, consistently exceeding goals.
Outside of work, much of Chris’ time is spent with his wife, Alicia, and their five children: Josephine, Kate, Grant, Shepard, and Maren, and their loving dog, Hank. He is an avid lacrosse coach and active member of his church and community in small-town northern CT.
With a strong track record of leadership, client advocacy, and collaborative growth, Chris is passionate about empowering individuals, families, and financial professionals alike to achieve long-term success.

Santo is a seasoned financial professional with expertise in banking, wealth management, and real estate. His experience includes management, advisory, and business development roles, making him a versatile and reliable resource in the finance industry.
As a Wealth Director, Santo plays a crucial role in helping high net worth investors manage their wealth and achieve their goals. He provides tailored financial advice to address the unique needs and challenges faced by highly paid executives, founders, generational wealth trustees, and beneficiaries during significant liquidity or life events.
Driven by his dynamic international background, Santo speaks English, Italian, Spanish, and French. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Salem State University and currently holds the following licenses & designations:

When he's off the clock, Santo enjoys active and cultural pursuits. He enjoys exploring new destinations, whether skiing down snowy slopes, biking through rugged trails, or hiking up a mountain. Growing up in Italy, Santo deeply appreciates art, culture, and culinary delights. Santo lives in Revere, MA, just north of Boston, with his wife Camilla and their kitten Kora.

Operations Manager
Erin Porter, MBA, is a relationship-focused leader with experience in customer service, administration, and operations. She serves as Operations Manager at Highland Peak Wealth, where Erin works to ensure excellent and proactive customer service, maintain records, produce business intelligence reports, and foster a culture of teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement. Erin earned a BA in 2007 from Wells College, where she majored in Economics with a minor in French, and she earned her MBA from Syracuse University in 2024.
Erin is from a small town in northern New York, where she learned to appreciate the outdoors and hard work. In honor of her late grandmother, Erin participates in the Boston Cares organization and has knit more than dozens of hats, scarves, and mittens for children in Boston.

As Head of Advisor Growth, Bobbi is responsible for driving the development strategy to increase advisor productivity via coaching and consulting. Her coaching in key areas of practice management includes developing vision and goals, identifying growth opportunities, defining roles and responsibilities, emphasizing the value of segmentation and the client experience, and financial management. She is committed to cultivating best practices to ensure teams have growth today and maximize the value of their practice in the future. Bobbi also helps advisors plan for succession and the continuity of the business.
Bobbi Rebisz has 18 years of experience in the Financial Services industry with a background and focus on practice management coaching and consulting, business development, and marketing. Before her current role, Bobbi was the Director of Advisor Teaming at MassMutual.
Andrew Gordon
Advanced Planning Strategist
As Advanced Planning Strategist at Commonwealth Financial Group, Andrew works directly with advisors on the pre-sale analysis and design of Advanced Planning cases in the Business High Net-Worth, Estate Planning, and Personal High Net-Worth Markets. Andrew brings a creative thought process to opportunities, helping clients and advisors acknowledge and address various planning opportunities. His approach focuses on pairing timely concepts and unique funding ideas to specific client situations with an emphasis on future flexibility.
Before joining Commonwealth Financial Group, Andrew spent 10 years at First American Insurance Underwriters, a full-service Brokerage General Agency in the Boston Area. As a Senior Case Design Specialist, he worked with top national insurance producers from a multi-carrier design standpoint.
Todd Seresky
Investment Planning Strategist
As an Investment Planning Strategist at Commonwealth Financial Group, Todd works with clients to help them achieve their financial goals while supporting advisors in understanding the investment landscape and identifying potential solutions.
Prior to his current role, Todd worked at Bank of New York Mellon as an Associate Wealth Manager, overseeing more than $1 billion in assets under management. He also worked at Fidelity Investments as an Internal Wholesaler, selling Fidelity’s mutual funds, 529 plans, and retirement products to financial advisors, generating over $300 million in mutual fund sales. Todd received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Lehigh University in 2012 and his MBA from Babson College in 2022. He holds Series 7, Series 63, and Massachusetts Life and Health licenses.
Chelsea Brochu
Estate Planning Strategist
As an Estate Planning Strategist at Commonwealth Financial Group, Chelsea focuses on meeting the needs of affluent families in the private banking and wealth management space. Previously, she served as a Senior Client Experience Manager at Key Private Bank in Connecticut, where she was responsible for the overall delivery of plans for high-net-worth clients across a team of investment, fiduciary, and planning strategists. Chelsea’s holistic approach centers on the client, ensuring efficiency both during and after the client’s lifetime, with a special focus on preserving peaceful familial relationships throughout the process.
She is a graduate of the University of Vermont and the Western New England University School of Law.
